With his cheerful demeanour and eager attitude, Louwrens is perfectly suited to the events industry, even if he didnt always know it! Louwrens initially studied computer and electronic engineering at the University of Pretoria, but came to the realisation that his true passion lies in the hospitality industry. Instead of staring at screens all day, he began to garner valuable experience in the industry, including working in the UK for an events planning consultancy. Louwrens later earned a Higher Diploma in Professional Cheffing and Baking from the Institute of Culinary Arts, specialising in Front of House, Wine and Sommelier. His talent did not go unnoticed, and he won a merit award for best student in this category and passed with distinction. To top it off, he also completed the Michael Fridjhon Wine Tasting Academy with distinction!
Today Louwrens is the Venue Manager at Webersburg Wine Estate and loves every minute of his job. Working in the events planning industry really appeals to him, especially meeting different people on a daily basis. As he says, I love seeing the face of a happy customer.
