“One of my most recent weddings was hosted at the Round House in Camps Bay, which is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful spots in the city. To put it simply, it was a wedding like no other. We constructed a massive platform from scratch, which towered a full ten metres above the venue’s lawns.

The structure was designed to support an entire marquee – including 200 guests, 40 waitrons, 20 musicians and all the additional service providers – as well as everything that went inside it! It was both a logistical and engineering challenge, and the time frame was very, very tight. But the results were phenomenal – the marquee was like a tented palace, complete with chandeliers, luxurious decor and endless views of the Atlantic Ocean. Inquisitive Camps Bay residents speculated that Egyptian royalty were tying the knot, and when I look back at that evening, I’m not surprised!”
