About the Aleit Swanepoel memorial scholarship

The Aleit Academy is a tertiary education institution offering superior-quality events & hospitality education with an emphasis on experiential learning and industry immersion. Aleit was always passionate about giving back wherever he could. As a co-founder of The Aleit Academy, he was equally dedicated to helping students recognise the potential within themselves, and to help them fulfil their career dreams. In honour of this generosity and his commitment to setting the benchmark for the highest levels of excellence in the events & hospitality industry, The Aleit Academy introduced The Aleit Swanepoel Memorial Scholarship Programme.

The Aleit Academy is the only institution in the industry that can practically prepare graduates to pursue any career in this sector. The Academy’s full-time Diploma in Event Coordination is regarded as South Africa’s pre-eminent qualification for anyone interested in pursuing a career within this industry.

The Aleit Swanepoel Memorial Scholarship was launched after his death in 2022 and offers a partial academic scholarship for the Diploma qualification to deserving students who may not have the financial means to afford the full tuition or payment options available from the Academy.

Aleit Swanepoel memorial scholarship 2023

The first scholarships were awarded to four deserving candidates with a clear passion for the industry, a strong track record of excelling academically, and strong leadership and growth potential.

These four students all received financial assistance for their 2023 studies. Their academic and practical performance will be assessed throughout the year to qualify for further assistance in 2024.

The applications is however also open to 2024 applicants and we are super excited to continue his legacy of giving back.
